Through the Eyes of WDS

If you are paying attention, forms will appear that present themselves as windows.  These windows will force you to look at something in a new way.  The foreground becomes just as important as the background.  The subject matter is blurred – it’s all important.  Thanks window for showing me something new today.

Through the Eyes of WDS

When I saw this I immediately thought of Wassily Kandinsky, the famous Russian abstract artist and theorist that taught at the Bauhaus.  In his book “Point and Line to Plane” he writes about the how, in a single gesture, a point transforms to a line which transforms to a plane.  This modern day kinetic sculpture exemplifies this concept.  This artist takes it a step further and introduces the dimension of time.  The points and lines are transformed to planes that with time, are constantly moving and creating spaces within spaces.  I give this exhibit an A+.

Through the Eyes of WDS

Decay can be a very beautiful thing.  Time, war, weather, and wind have stripped away what was once considered an complete building.  Now what remains is something altogether more meaningful.  Revealed are the constructions techniques of centuries past.  Revealed are the flawed yet precise at the same time. Revealed is the spirit of mankind and our ability to create marvels.

The Concrete Pour...

We had blasted the roof off the penthouse a couple weeks ago.  We lifted the ceiling by 2 feet and re-framed the roof.  Now the exciting part...the Concrete pour.  Here is the first phase.  In a couple of weeks, the subs will be back to polish the concrete.

Next steps:  pouring the interior concrete floors.  This Industrial Modern Penthouse is coming to life!  Super Exciting!

Smoothing it out

Beginning of a beautiful Concrete surface.
In 2 weeks, this surface will be polished and it will continue to cure.
